A Community-Centered Gallery and Event Space in Oakmont, PA
A Tempo Art Gallery believes that art should foster community and culture in our neighborhoods. Our mission is to establish an artist-focused gallery program in, showcasing a diverse range of early and mid-career artists. We treat these artists as true partners and aim to build a confident local audience that collects art and engages with us out of curiosity.
The Plan
A Tempo is designed to be a true gathering place — home to artist talks, workshops, private events, and community programming that make it a fixture of Oakmont life. We're getting there in three steps:
1. Oakmont Street Markets
We'll start by showing up where the community already gathers. Participating in local Oakmont events gives us a chance to meet people, understand what they love, and learn how they engage with art before we open our doors.
2. Secure Funding
What we learn on the street informs everything — our financial projections, our programming, and our pitch to funders. We'll explore grants, loans, and other funding options with a business plan grounded in real community insight.
3. Storefront Gallery
The heart of A Tempo: a rotating residency model where 2–3 artists are hosted for 12-week engagements at a time. Works go on sale from opening night and stay on view until sold or replaced — so the space always feels intentional, alive, and worth coming back to.
